In the Phase 2 program, families move into independent housing where they become responsible for their living expenses and continue to receive case management and support services. Working adults learn how to budget and manage a household.
The families continue to receive:
- Structured case management
- Mental health counseling
- Financial counseling
- Parenting and life skills education
- Assistance with basic needs and emergency transportation
Emphasis is placed on financial planning for the future; clients attend educational programs offered through the agency. The services continue for 18 months after the family reaches their own housing. The specific goal is to maintain permanent housing and prevent relapse into homelessness.
